Freeman Productions
The true challenge for innovators is pioneering new horizons and having their creation accepted. Don and Judy Freeman created Tjapukai, the first ever Aboriginal Cultural Tourist Attraction and by doing so pioneered an industry.
They are tourism consultants and event organisers with a proven track record, especially in Indigenous Tourism projects. They are able to assemble a team of writers, display artists, audio-visual and technical designers and builders and undertake to provide help at any stage of the development from concept, through detailed design and construction, to mentoring the operations of a completed enterprise.
Freeman Productions pride themselves on their ability to involve the community and relevant stakeholders in all phases of the design and development of a project, and have proven abilities in this area.
They offer assistance with concept planning, scoping exercises, feasibility studies, financial management, corporate governance, product development and management, marketing planning and execution, collateral development, PR and media advice.
In the twenty-five year development of the world renowned Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park, Don and Judy Freeman have three times redeveloped the Tjapukai presentation of Indigenous culture to tourists.
Founders of Tjapukai and its inspirational leaders from 1987-2009, they supervised the concepts, the design, the building, the operations, the marketing, the international touring, the theatrics, the personnel and the quality control of this exceptional multi award winning attraction.
Freeman Productions were recently commissioned to write a comprehensive paper on "Best Practice Cultural Tourism Attractions" in the world today. This was done for a State Government considering the establishment of an iconic Cultural Tourism facility, as part of a multi billion dollar development and so their knowledge on the subsject is very current.
Together Don and Judy have created special events for hundreds of corporate clients designing tailor made functions and parties for up to 2000 people. They look after all aspects of a function from concept creation through transport, food and beverage, entertainment, operations and venue selection.

The very well orchestrated Eclipse Amaroo was an off site event for 1300 people and Freeman Productions handled every aspect, creating a pop up hotel with luxury facilities in a remote location. Astronomers from NASA, MIT, and many other well known scientific organisations chose Amaroo as the spot to view the Eclipse. Luxury tents were brought in, hot showers erected, shops were set up, and wi-fi tents assembled. Three meals a day were served in the dining marquee complemented by nightly entertainment. The most amazing thing about this event is that it took place on a 50 acre property miles from anywhere. It left no footprint and disappeared soon after it was created.
